Five reasons our guests say we are the best family glamping site in the Cotswolds!
It feels like quite a boast but so many of our guests say we are the best family glamping site they have been to and that just makes my heart melt. Right from the beginning every decision was made with children in mind and this helped us create a truly family friendly glamping site.
We are a small glamping site with just two yurts so we never get crazy busy with lots of people around – great for those who are looking for a more intimate site where the children can be safe but free to roam. You may choose to book out both yurts so friends, other family members or grandparents can share the site with you and then you will have the whole place to yourselves.
The yurts are spaced well apart and each have their own firepit and hammock/s so there is no need to share. Buttercup Yurt has a fenced paddock around it which is great for dogs – but also young children for an extra feeling of security, knowing they can’t escape your area!
Our family friendly glamping bathrooms
Our bathrooms are spacious, light and close by so children are happy to use them on their own (when they are old enough). They are also clearly in sight so parents have peace of mind about where their children are. There is plenty of room for a little one to play outside the shower cubicle while mum/dad showers.
We provide a step so children can reach the sink/toilet without having to be lifted. We can also provide a potty if yours won’t fit in the car.
Having flushing toilets mean children aren’t worried about using long-drop or compost loos and our showers are electric. We can provide a plastic ‘trugg’ for bathing babies – or simply use the large kitchen sinks for a quick dip.
Family friendly activities and things to do on site
Many families spend the whole day on the site, enjoying the chance to slow down and reconnect with each other. We have a good stash of board games for all ages including scrabble and Cotswold Monopoly so you get the chance to own some of the wonderful landmarks in the area – even if just for a short while!
Pizza Parties at our family friendly glamping site
Pizza parties are always a hit with our young guests. It’s a meal they can get totally involved with and even those who don’t particularly like eating pizzas just love making them for everyone else.
The dough and sauce are provided so you just bring the cheese and toppings that you like and Jane will lead you through the process of making pizzas. We then cook them in Bob our pizza oven.
It is really hands on and a great way to get your children into cooking, letting them be independent or giving them some help to roll the dough if they need it.
Family cooking made easy
As much as we know you would like to have a break from the usual chores – cooking/feeding your family does still need to be done! Sorry! Once again we have tried to make things as easy as possible for parents by making sure we provide all you will need.
There is a full gas cooker in our cook-hut which has an oven, grill and hob. All pots and pans (yes, decent size saucepans) baking trays, cutlery and crockery are provided. We also have childrens plates, bowls and toddler cutlery too.
There is also a microwave and toaster in the kitchen room.
We have a barrel bbq or grills to use over your firepit for cooking your bbq on. Charcoal is available here too.
Getting a good night’s sleep
We know sleep is precious and we want you all to feel rested. We have a king size bed in each yurt and the children can get cosy in the double futons or the single day bed. The futons are low to the ground so no fear of them rolling out – but we can also provide a bed guard if that would give you peace of mind.
Travel cots are available too and can be up and ready for your arrival.
The yurt crown is clear and does let in morning light so we have made a shade cover that can be put up that blocks out a good amount of light. However we do need to put it up ahead of your visit so please do ask for it in advance. Once it is up, it needs to stay up as it is attached to the yurt structure.and requires tall ladders to get it back down.
